I had the same problem, although the watch was still collecting and sending the data to the phones fitness app. Fixed it by sending the link of the workout app through messages from my iPhone and opened it on my watch. It is on my phone but only on my Apple Watch settings, showing as if it should be on my watch. Anyone have any thoughts or solutions? I’ve called apple and they were useless. After the update last night, the Workout app on my watch disappeared and I don’t see it in the App Store to reinstall.

My little green man disappeared after an update and I had stopped wearing my watch because I could not track my specific activities. I had almost given up, but decided to try one more time. Please refer to Download apps on your Apple best app for beginner workout Watch, which lists the steps how to “Get apps with the iPhone that’s paired with the Apple Watch,” and “If you can’t find an app.”
